YOGA IS A UNION OF BODY, MIND AND SOUL
- People practice yoga with different objectives: Physical fitness, self-awareness, self-development, finding inner peace, trying something new than hitting the gym and many more. Whatever the reason or calling from within, Yoga is here to stay and has been practiced for 1000’s of years. The word ‘Yoga’ comes from a Sanskrit word ‘Yuj’ which means ‘Union’ - Yoga is so powerful that if practiced regularly, it brings the union and harmony between mind, body and soul.
MY JOURNEY OF YOGA
My Calling for Yoga has been through my Father who was the Head of Yoga Department in Karnatak University, Dharwad (Karnataka, India). Even at 68 today, he religiously practices Yoga and has imbibed it in his lifestyle which inspires people around him to follow a similar path. My Mother certainly motivated by him is an active follower of Yoga.
It all started with a Certificate Course in Yoga way back in 2007. I was so captivated that I was determined to go further in yoga discovery trip by studying Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga in 2009 from Karnatak University Dharwad. With growing passion and interest in yogic lifestyle & philosophy, I pursued my Masters in Yoga (M.Sc. in Yoga Science) in 2018. The curriculum taught me the why’s, what’s & how’s of Yoga & Human Anatomy. However, it was my practical experience in teaching students over years from different age groups & medical conditions that made me get deeper into Yoga.
WHAT YOGA MEANS TO ME
Yoga for me is merely not about bending like pretzels or performing advanced postures, it is more than just an exercise. Yoga is not about competing with others; It is a beautiful experience, a journey of self-discovery. It’s about knowing & loving yourself, feeling good about yourself. It is considered that we all are made up of 4 dimensions - Physical, Mental, Emotional & Spiritual. All these four dimensions are interconnected and by following the Path of yoga, these dimensions synchronize and harmonize the connection between them to have perfect, well-balanced life.
KINDS/FORMS OF YOGA I TEACH
I have been sharing my knowledge and experiences of Yoga through classes, workshops and courses to all age groups. I teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga & Iyengar Yoga forms along with Pranayama & Meditation techniques. With enthusiasm and joy, I continue my journey, every day. It brings me to the most beautiful experiences and attainments in life. I meet great students and inspiring teachers.
Yes, Yoga is for everyone and I would like to welcome you all to my classes...
Embrace and Enjoy the path of Yoga!!
