Shiatsu therapie
In Yoga Center Karuna te Leidschendam verzorgt Martine vanaf januari 2025 de shiatsubehandelingen. Hiermee treedt zij in de voetsporen van Lennie, wie vanaf dag 1 de behandelingen verzorgde bij Karuna. In Martine vond Lennie een opvolger die qua werkwijze en energie heel goed past.

Martine is French and a graduated Shiatsu therapist from the Shiatsu School in Den Haag (formerly CSMBK). My final thesis focused on supporting women and men though physical and emotional challenge of menopause and andropause but I treat also a wide range of conditions such as chronic headaches, muscle stiffness, neck and shoulder pain, back pain, sleep disturbances, hot flashes, night sweats, hip tension, tensed legs, foot discomfort, digestive issues, anxiety and stress.
Aside this, Martine completed the medical western course (HBO opleiding westerse Medische basiskennis) and follows regularly the intervisions with peers and necessary courses in the field to maintain the quality of her practice. Martine uses the Namikoshi style, the official Japanese method currentlyused in Japan Shiatsu College, Tokyo.
Although Martine is French by birth, she speaks english fluently and also understand Dutch since she already lives in the Netherlands for quite some time now.
What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu is a Japanese healing technique whereby acupressure massage is made with the palms and thumbs of the hands on the energetic lines throughout the human body. It is linked to the concept of vital energy named "Qi" in traditional Chinese medicine. By applying pressure on a particular area, the body can find again its natural way of self recovery and natural rejuvenation.
